Having a Tea Room is something you've always wanted.
It might be an addition to an existing business or the very beginning of a new venture. You probably love hosting tea parties in your home and want to turn this 'hobby' into a 'real business'. Being an independent entrepreneur is a lot different than the simple set up at home, yet tea rooms are becoming more popular and the demand is increasing. You enjoy creating that warmth and inviting atmosphere. |

...the main goal is: to run it more like a business and less like a hobby Going into business for ourselves takes effort and is by no means a way to make money the easy way--no such thing. Yet, many with natural talents and abilities are
starting a small business. This will take hard work and
commitment on your part, so you need to study your options and make a
business start-up plan.
A business plan assist you in the brainstorming process and guides your thoughts about the operational aspects of the business. You also have to decide on the 'fun stuff' to as to the types of food and beverages. This is a whole process.
If you feel like you have a diversion from the current situation that you are in, you'll be more apt to create magic and the simpler times.
A working plan that you specifically design explores your market and your business structure. Many people skip this step, yet if you haven't surveyed all your options, you may miss out! We like to plan and organize social events, yet the first thing to organize is your business operations. Sound unexciting? Well, perhaps----yet put your "creative nature" aside for a minute and assume a "business" stance. For example, is it for parties only? Will you have a bakery? What hours will you operate? You may only want to target one service area, yet branching out into other avenues (i.e. sales) may assist in producing additional revenue for you. Does your targeted market have a need for a Tea Room? Want to teach children (and adults) etiquette and manners? Do you go into partnership with a friend or family member--or go solo? How do your set up your business records? These are a few things I have on a very long list to consider when developing your working plan. Your "hobby turned business" must turn a profit or why do this? Thinking like a "business-minded" person, channels your goal - making money with your talents.
Every town has a need and the trick is to find what is needed and be the best. Find your place in this growing market. The idea is to find the niche in the market for your area that has a gap. Find the market, fill the need and outshine the rest! Design your working plan in a way that promotes a unique customer service experience. There's much to learn, so always scoop up as much information and perspective as possible--your clients will all be different!
If you have even considered owning your own business, then you have the ability to be an independent achiever.
Not everyone finds this appealing---but you do! Is "now" the right time to start? Quit making excuses, because there is never a "right" time to do it.
