Rental Needs

For general tips on renting, the following is generic information or questions that you might ask the company representative. Reservations are necessary so that the items that you need will be available on a specific date. A reservation or rental deposit may be required. Early planning will assist in those items that are rented during heavy seasonal events. Most of the prices are for the day of the event only, while others provide extensions on some items or state that the rental period is longer than the day of the event (i.e. 3 days). If prior set-up is required, you may have to pay for the additional, unused time frame as well.

Party rental companies are normally very customer service oriented and they realize that some things change during the planning process. Call or visit them when you have additional needs or need to make a change on your order. Some companies offer free delivery and pickup service, while others may charge a nominal fee determined by the location site of your event. Deliveries and pickups are usually scheduled, so if specific times are needed, work out these details with the customer service person. When deliveries or pickups are made, have someone at the location who can best instruct the driver.

The proper return of all items is important as you will most likely be charged for any damages or losses. Ask about any damage waiver policies on rentals in the event that accidental damage is caused. Replacement fees may also be included in the event that abuse or loss has taken place. Final payment dates, cancellation fees, postponed orders or payment methods are also good questions to ask the customer service specialist.

Also, after the event is over, ask the company what it requires of you. Find out if the dishes need to be washed or simply rinsed; do the tables need to be broken down; should the chairs be stacked; how best to attend to linen items; and, how should fountains be maintained. For convenience, gather all items and place in a single location or area for the drivers.

Making It Special
Party Rental companies maintain a wide variety of services for the event planner to choose from. The list below will give you some ideas as to what you might like to rent in order to make the event a little extra special.
