What? A special ceremony that not only speaks words of commitment, but also a celebration surrounded by friends and family. Perhaps you are engaged and want to celebrate your new betrothed status. Perhaps you're not ready for marriage, yet want to profess a commitment to each other. Whatever the reason, your special pledge and obligation to each other is important.
Why? Expression of love, commitment to share ones lives & household, or the pending celebration of a marriage. Who? You will want to invite family and close friends. As a special celebration you can ask a minister or close family friend to provide the blessings and the ceremonial exchange. When? Betrothals: engagement party Commitment & Partners in Life: Anniversary date of first meeting, career change, mutual decision, personal situations, Valentine's Day, Sweetest Day (October) Where? These celebrations can be held at the home of your parents or close friends, a chapel, your own home, park, reception hall or other unique possibilities.
How? The ceremony can have a touch of protocol and a touch of special creativity. As with most ceremonies, consider the following as ideas:
