Determine the following:
Estimated Budget
• How large do you want the shower to be?
• Co-ed or just the girls?—Men like Baby Showers too!
• Forecast weather conditions (warm, cold, wet)
• Should the event be a surprise to the guest of honor?
• Food, Cocktail party or Desserts?
• Games & activities?
Theme & Decorations Expense

Baby Game

Make a time capsule for the baby. Have each guest at the shower write a letter to the baby on their thoughts and their wishes for the baby. Guests can also tell about the shower, about the baby’s mother and other little cherished memories.

The baby shower can be a lot of fun for all guests—male or female. With the upcoming birth (or even after), the shower is a wonderful way to honor a new life. The shower can be fun and creative or even elegant. With so many themes to choose from, the hostess will be able to re-create a bit of the guests’ childhood memories. The registry table can be set up to include the guest book, photos of the mom and dad, party favors and other trinkets. The hostess might prepare a shadow box in advance, filling it with items from the showers, including the invitation, napkin, party favor, and other things from the shower. Decorate it with baby novelties, little plastic diaper pins, baby booties and more. The new mom can hang the shadow box in the nursery for a wonderful memory! One of my favorite sources is Oriental Trading Company where you can find many little trinkets, candy, balloons and party favor items.
