Anniversary Ceremony Ideas

Renewal of marriage vows.....

...........is a special time of re-dedication.   It is a special time to reflect on past accomplishments and renew hopes for the future.

Who?   You will want to invite family and close friends.  As a special celebration you can ask a minister or close family friend to provide the blessings and the ceremonial exchange.   The participation of children in the ceremony can add a special touch to the celebration.

When:   Anniversary date, after the passing of a difficult time in the marriage, after the children are married, Valentine's Day, Sweetest Day (October)

Where?   These celebrations can be held in the home of a close friends, a chapel, your own home, park, reception hall or other unique possibilities.

How?  The ceremony can have a touch of protocol and a touch of special creativity.   As with most ceremonies, consider the following as ideas:

AGENDA IDEAS:

-Greetings, Introduction and welcome to family and guests

-Special Scripture or Poem reading by a designated person

-Candle Lighting Ceremony (candle for couple, parents, children, etc.)

-Special music

-Reaffirmation of Vows

-Exchange of rings, gifts, special poems

-Signing of the Certificate (optional)

-Acknowledgement and Recognition of other "special people"

-Special Prayer or Verse

-Benediction/Conclusion

-Presentation of Couple and Certificate

Other?

Your celebration can also include a small buffet, finger foods, cheese & crackers, or even a bar-b-q!   After the ceremony be sure to include a photo session.

Provide your guests with special favors and candy treats.  You may also want to print up a special Program keepsake/memento of the ceremony.
