Aclin
San Angelo, Texas — Helen
Loleta Aclin, 81, passed away Saturday morning, May 29, 2004, in a local
hospital. She was born on Nov. 14, 1922, in Runnels County to Lee and Myrtle
Bilderback Balkum. She married Willie Earl Aclin on Jan. 12, 1946, in
Ballinger.
Helen is survived by her husband, Willie; children, Kenneth Hameister and
wife, Darlene of San Angelo, Fred Hameister and wife, Wanda of Lake Cherokee
and Kelsey Hameister of San Angelo; grandchildren, Jeff Hameister and wife
Michelle of San Angelo, Eric Hameister and wife, Amy of Hutto, Michelle and
husband Peter Perez of Austin, Tammie Adams of Austin; step-grandchildren
Cindy and husband Charlie of Dallas, Tim and wife, Rayne of Wichita Falls,
and Phillip and wife, Kim of Navarre, Florida; 14 great-grandchildren; three
great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, Inez Whittenberg,
Rachel Bitner, Ruth Myrick and infant sister, Lillie Maude, and three
brothers, Eddie Lee Balkum, Arthur Eudell (Slim) Balkum, and infant brother,
David.
Helen was a member of the Baptist Temple Church. She had a passion for the
elderly in the nursing homes and visited the patients regularly until her
health failed. She was a homemaker, avid piano player, and family historian.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 1, in Johnson’s Funeral
Home Chapel with Rev. Phil Webber officiating. Burial will follow in Miles
Cemetery.
