Fire Department Retirement or Membership Certificate

Fireman Retirement Gift or New Recruit Recognition

Fireman Fire Fighter Department Recognition Retirement & Membership Certificate awards presentation Gifts

Photographs are somewhat distorted to prevent copying

About the Certificate:   The original Currier and Ives lithograph certificate was issued in 1877. Nat Currier and Jim Ives printed the original lithograph on which this digital reprint is based. From their business on Spruce Street in Brooklyn, New York, Currier and Ives printed over 1 million prints covering over 7500 different titles from 1834 to 1907.

Their work chronicles an era in America before the printing press could produce colored prints and stone lithography were the only method for doing color prints in quantity. Though their lithographs are in high demand today, they once described their business as "Publishers of Cheap and Popular Pictures". Currier and Ives created a certificate that was printed so that local fire departments had a worthy certificate of membership for their firemen.

About the Design:  10.5” (w) X 14.25”
This digital reprint is on a quality 100# high glossy text paper. The print measures 10.5” (w) X 14.25” (h). It has a small border to allow for framing. When matted, this size is perfect for a standard 16” x 20” frame, a manageable size for a variety of decorating purposes.

Wording:  This Certifies That (full name)_____________:
Is A Member of _____ Company;
No. _____ Fire Department.”
There is then a blank line for a signature and a line for the date.
